Upcycling – new yarn made from selvedges
We developed a new concept to use industrial textile waste such as selvedges in a meaningful way. Selvedges are produced during the manufacture of fabrics and are generated in large quantities. Our process enables us to produce high-quality ropes and yarns from this waste that can be used in various industries, such as carpets, curtains or wall coverings.
By reusing selvages and other textile waste, we not only reduce the amount of waste that needs to be disposed of, but also the need to consume new resources to produce materials. Our approach thus contributes to reducing the ecological footprint of the textile industry.
Our design concept allows us to customize the materials so that they can be optimally used for different applications. With this sustainable solution, we show how industrial waste can be successfully reused.
